Table Mountain

We climbed Table Mountain and it was BEAUTIFUL!  It took about 2.5 hours, and we had an amazing view of Cape Town from the top.  Then, we took the Cable Car down because it was too late to hike down the path (which was very steep). On top, we noticed a beautiful beach down below and rewarded ourselves with a lovely dinner on the beach.  It was a fabulous day.

Cape of Good Hope

We spent an afternoon exploring the Cape of Good Hope.  There were a multitude of birds endemic to the peninsula and Adam's eyes were glued to his binoculars.  We also saw ostrich and a number of other mammals.  We weren't lucky enough to see whales, but hopefully we will see them soon!  The Cape of Good Hope was astonishingly beautiful and fantastically windy, and we can see why it was difficult to round during the days of exploration.  We were almost blown off the peninsula!

Penguins

We enjoyed a flock of wild penguins on our tromp down to the Cape of Good Hope.

Sea Point, Cape Town

We arrived in Cape Town and spent the first night enjoying Sea Point, a bustling waterfront.

Jozi

After an amazing two months in the states, we have landed in Johannesburg or Joburg or Jozi.  We've taken to the city quickly and much of that has to do with the great fortune we had in finding a place to live.  We're living in a small cottage on the property of a wonderful family who have been extremely generous in introducing us to running clubs, information, and more.  The cottage overlooks a boy's college (high school) so we often overhear field hockey practice or see the kids training as we run on the grounds.  We even get to use the tennis courts for free!  We feel so lucky to have found this adorable cottage and feel a world away from Delhi.

Rochester

Our photos from Okoboji are all on Barb's computer so they haven't made it to the blog.  But here is a photo of Em and Kate in Rochester.  Kate is SIX months pregnant here!  She's due at the end of October, and it was such a treat to have time together.
